Speech Therapy

Our Speech Therapy services focus on helping children communicate effectively and confidently. Therapy is individualized, strengths-based, and designed to support meaningful communication in real-life situations.

Language Development
We support both receptive and expressive language skills, including understanding directions, expanding vocabulary, forming sentences, and expressing thoughts, needs, and ideas clearly.

Social Communication
Social communication skills help children navigate conversations and relationships. Therapy targets skills such as turn-taking, topic maintenance, understanding social cues, perspective-taking, and appropriate communication in different settings.

Articulation
We help students improve speech sound production and clarity so they can be understood by others. Therapy focuses on correct sound formation, speech intelligibility, and building confidence when speaking.

Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)
For students who benefit from additional communication supports, we provide instruction and support using AAC systems. This may include picture-based communication, speech-generating devices, or other assistive technology. AAC is used to support language development, reduce communication frustration, and empower students to express themselves across settings. Our goal is to honor all forms of communication while building functional, meaningful connections.

Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapy services support children in developing the skills they need to participate successfully in daily routines at home, school, and in the community. Services are individualized and play-based, while remaining purposeful and goal-driven.

Fine Motor Skills
We help students strengthen the small muscles of the hands and improve coordination needed for everyday tasks such as writing, cutting, buttoning, using utensils, and manipulating classroom materials.

Sensory Regulation
Many children experience challenges processing sensory information. We support students in understanding their sensory needs and developing strategies to stay regulated, focused, and calm. This may include movement, sensory tools, and coping strategies tailored to each child.

Daily Living Skills
Occupational Therapy also targets functional life skills such as self-care routines, organization, time management, and independence with daily tasks—building confidence and promoting greater independence across environments.

Physical Therapy

Our Physical Therapy services support children in building the strength, coordination, and mobility they need to move confidently through daily life at home, school, and in the community. Services are individualized and play-based, while remaining purposeful and goal-driven.

Gross Motor Skills
We help students develop large muscle strength and coordination needed for activities such as walking, running, jumping, climbing, and participating in play and sports.

Balance & Coordination
Many children benefit from support with balance, body awareness, and coordination. We work on skills that improve stability, posture, and the ability to move safely and efficiently throughout their environment.

Mobility & Endurance
Physical Therapy also focuses on improving overall movement patterns, endurance, and functional mobility. This may include navigating stairs, playgrounds, or school environments—helping children build independence and confidence in their everyday routines.

Life Skills & Job Readiness

At Wolfe & Cub Learning Center, our Life Skills and Job Readiness programming helps students build independence, confidence, and real-world readiness at their own pace. We focus on meaningful, functional skills that support success at home, school, in the community, and eventually in the workplace.

Daily Living Skills

We support students in developing essential everyday skills, including personal care and hygiene routines, organization, time management and daily schedules, money awareness, meal preparation, safety skills, and household responsibilities. Instruction is hands-on, structured, and tailored to each student’s age and ability level.

Executive Functioning Skills

Executive functioning skills are foundational to learning and independence. Our program targets planning and task initiation, organization and prioritization, working memory and attention, flexible thinking, problem-solving, emotional regulation, and coping strategies across environments.

Pre-Vocational & Job Readiness Skills

We help students prepare for future employment by building foundational workplace skills such as following directions, completing tasks, understanding routines and expectations, appropriate communication and self-advocacy, teamwork, flexibility, stamina, confidence, and introductory resume writing. Instruction is developmentally appropriate and individualized.

Life Skills Instruction by Age

Our life skills and functional academics instruction grows with each student through structured workbooks, hands-on activities, and real-life practice.

Younger students focus on foundational skills such as sorting and categorizing, identifying personal information, understanding daily schedules, basic money concepts, functional reading, and following simple recipes and routines.

Older students build toward independence through real-world applications that focus on financial literacy and functional math. They practice budgeting and money math, reading and understanding utility bills, completing job and personal forms, interpreting schedules, following multi-step recipes, and developing functional reading and introductory pre-vocational skills. These practical experiences give students the confidence and skills to navigate everyday life independently.

Kindergarten Readiness

Our Kindergarten Readiness program is designed to help young learners build the foundational skills they need to feel confident, capable, and excited about starting school. We focus on the whole child—academic, social, emotional, and developmental—while honoring each child’s unique learning style and pace.

Early Academic Skills
We support the development of early literacy and math skills, including letter recognition, phonological awareness, early writing, number sense, counting, and problem-solving through hands-on, engaging activities.

Social & Emotional Development
Children learn essential classroom behaviors such as following routines, taking turns, sharing, managing big feelings, and building positive relationships with peers and adults. We emphasize emotional regulation, flexibility, and confidence.

Fine & Gross Motor Development
Kindergarten readiness includes developing the physical skills needed for school success. We support fine motor skills for writing and classroom tasks, as well as gross motor skills for movement, coordination, and stamina.

Independence & Classroom Readiness
Children practice self-help skills such as managing belongings, transitioning between activities, and following classroom expectations—building independence and confidence in a school setting.

Early Intervention

Our Academic Support services are designed to meet students where they are and help them grow with confidence. Instruction is individualized, strengths-based, and grounded in evidence-informed practices to support meaningful, lasting progress.

We offer support in:

  • Early Literacy and Math – building strong foundational skills through hands-on, engaging instruction that supports early reading, writing, number sense, and problem-solving

  • Dyslexia-Informed Instruction – providing structured, explicit, and multi-sensory teaching approaches to support students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences

  • Individualized Learning Plans – creating personalized goals and instructional plans tailored to each student’s unique learning profile, needs, and pace

Academic support sessions focus on building confidence, independence, and a positive relationship with learning in a supportive and encouraging environment. We work closely with families to ensure instruction aligns with each child’s goals and supports success at school and beyond.

Age-Based Groups:

  • Preschool (Ages 3–5): early social skills, emotional awareness, group participation, and kindergarten readiness

  • Early Elementary (Ages 6–8): friendship skills, emotional regulation, flexibility, and classroom expectations

  • Upper Elementary (Ages 9–11): perspective-taking, self-advocacy, problem-solving, and peer relationships

  • Middle School (Ages 12–14): peer dynamics, boundaries, emotional regulation, and self-confidence

  • High School (Ages 15–18): communication, self-advocacy, relationships, social decision-making, and independence

Groups use structured activities, guided discussion, and real-life social scenarios to help students build confidence, connection, and independence in a safe, encouraging setting.

Social Skills Groups

Our Social Skills Groups are organized by age to ensure students learn alongside peers at similar developmental levels. Each group offers a warm, supportive environment where children and teens practice social skills in meaningful, real-life ways.

Group focus areas include:

  • Communication: expressing needs, listening, and respectful conversation

  • Emotional Regulation: identifying emotions and managing stress and big feelings

  • Peer Interaction: cooperation, friendship building, conflict resolution, and problem-solving
